His comment could lead to his sanction by the necessary La Liga body, the Dutch tactician questions the application of the system, believing that it was unfair against the Catalan giants.

Koeman told reporters after the game: “In all the matches that we have had, it (VAR) has only come against Barcelona, but never in favour of us. It also did so in the matches against Getafe and Sevilla, due to plays against ours.”

Koeman could escape the punishment as his comment was only directed to the VAR system and not the La Liga officials.

Barcelona is yet to record a win in their last four outings in La Liga with just eight points in their opening six games.
